AI infrastructure sourcing is becoming a strategic issue, not just a purchasing decision.
Reuters reports that U.S. officials are discussing a roughly $5 billion loan to AI cloud company Fluidstack aimed at strengthening domestic manufacturing capacity for data-center components.
The deal is still under discussion, but the direction is worth watching.
AI infrastructure supply chains are becoming more regional.
That does not necessarily mean every component will be manufactured in one country.
It means OEMs increasingly need to decide where each part of the manufacturing process should happen:
• PCB fabrication
• Components
• PCBA
• Power systems
• Cooling hardware
• Final integration
• Testing
For procurement teams, the challenge is becoming more complex.
Cost, technical capability, lead time, resilience and country-of-origin requirements all need to be balanced together.
At ShinePCB, our role is to help overseas hardware companies connect PCB requirements with the right manufacturing resources in China while supporting flexible sourcing strategies for the wider program.
